Watchmaker Foundation is Here for the Creators
Watchmaker Foundation is looking for authors who have written their book and are seeking to self-publish. For selected authors, Watchmaker Foundation will pay for the printing of 100 copies of their book. The author will also have a page dedicated to them and their book on Watchmakerfoundation.org.
What we’re looking for in candidates
Candidates should be committed to self-publishing, as opposed to seeking to be commercially published. Commercial publishing is a great option, but Watchmaker Foundation wants to reserve its funds for authors who don’t have the support of a publishing company.
Candidates should have a completed and edited manuscript of their novel at the time of applying. The novel can be any genre. You should also have your book cover designed.
Candidates should have a strong business plan for how they will sell the 100 copies of their book. The plan should be clear, cohesive, achievable, and creative.
If you’re not an author, but another kind of creator, we’d love to hear from you. What does your creation offer the world, and what financial roadblocks are in your way?
Application Process
Part 1: Submit Application
The application will help us get to know you, your novel, and your plan for selling 100 copies. Download the application at the bottom of the page to begin.
Part 2: Manuscript Reading
If your application is selected to advance in the process, we would like to read your book. You can send us as much or as little of the manuscript you feel comfortable with.
Part 3: Virtual Interview
If you progress through the manuscript reading round, the final step before a decision is made is an interview. Details will be sent to you beforehand, but the interview is nothing to be nervous about! You’ll receive a decision within 24 hours after the interview.
